Dear campus community,
It is truly an honor for me to begin my tenure as president of San José State University today. I am so very appreciative of the warm welcome I received as I made my way onto campus and into Clark Hall this morning. Sammy Spartan was even waiting in the office when I arrived. You can view a brief video here.
I look forward to meeting many more of you during the days and weeks ahead. In fact, I would like to start as soon as possible, so the Office of the President is hosting a welcome reception on Monday, January 23, 2023, at 9 a.m. in the Student Union Ballroom and via livestream. While I am excited to share more about myself with you during the address, I am even more eager to learn about you and this amazing university. Additional details will follow via email, and I sincerely hope that you will be able to attend.
One of my goals as president is to ensure that I engage with our students, faculty, staff and entire campus community in multiple and varied ways. I plan to share and provide updates via social media and our university communication channels regularly, and I encourage you to connect with me on Twitter (@sjsuprezmatson), Instagram (@sjsuprezmatson), Facebook and LinkedIn.
Thank you,
Dr. Cynthia Teniente-Matson
President
