Lurie College is partnering with The Moth through a weekend workshop intensive to explore what storytelling is, how to be a storyteller, and how to bring it into the classroom. The focus includes how to use an authentic voice while respecting boundaries. In addition, they will learn both how to give and teach crafting comments. Don’t miss your chance to  attend  this inaugural event as  Lurie College  alumni, staff, and faculty share their experiences through the art of storytelling in a slam session open to the community

SJSU is preparing for the upcoming launch of its PK-3 ECE Specialist Instruction credential program. California is moving closer towards approving PK-3 credential programs, including SJSU’s version; visit our FAQ page or sign up for updates to learn more.

Please note that SJSU’s program is pending approval by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, and applications are not yet being accepted.

Prospective applicants are invited to attend an information session, via Zoom.

PK-3 Interest Form

The Golden State Teacher Grant (GSTG) Program awards up to $20,000 to students currently enrolled in a professional preparation program approved by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) and working towards earning their preliminary teaching or pupil personnel services credential.

Students must:
-Complete their program and obtain their credential within 6 years from the date their initial GSTG payments are mailed to their institution.
-Commit to work at either a priority school or a California State Preschool Program (CSPP) for 4 years within 8 years of completing their program.

Mark your calendar for the 2nd Annual SJSU x City of San José Day! We are happy to offer this hugely successful event for students toexplore—first-hand—career paths with the City of San José.

Want to learn more about working in a school setting and working with kids? Come join our  Individualized Education Plan Workshop with local SLPs  from the Santa Clara County Speech-Language Hearing Association. We will go over how an IEP is created and practice how a IEP meeting may go. Please register below, see you there!
